Welcome to West Country RC Truckers Club, we hope you will enjoy being part of our friendly club. We have published this guide to outline the rules at our meets, to ensure the safety, security, and enjoyment of all our members, and to answer some of the questions we frequently get asked.

The Club is a limited company, run by our Directors; Rob Briggs, Paul Evans, Stu Loud, Allan Shillitto, and Nicola Loud, who are also Committee members, along with Duncan Perryman, Daz Knight, and Aaron Price.

Additional information is available on our website.

The club meets are held at Haywood Village Academy, 20 Whitney Crescent, Weston Super Mare, BS24 8ES, on the second Sunday of each month from September to June. Occasionally we may have to change these dates, but
this is always communicated in advance.

This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . If you think we could something better, please let us know, either by talking to a Director or Committee member, or completing a suggestions form at Reception. We welcome feedback and suggestions, and will implement them, if they are considered a benefit to the Club or its members.

Yard Bookings

The Club encourages Members to develop their own working yards as they benefit the visual impact and enjoyment of the layout. Yards are booked via Stu Loud, our Layout manager. We have a process in place to book yard space, on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, as unfortunately we do not have the space for everyone to have a yard.

Facilities & Refreshments

The hall has a separate room, where we serve tea, coffee, squash and biscuits for members and spectators. Your wristband entitles you to free refreshments. Additionally, we also have a small selection of soft drinks and snacks available for purchase. We now offer hot sausage baps for purchase and may also offer further hot food options in due course.

Clothing

The club has a range of clothing, T-shirts, Polo shirts, hoodies, etc for purchase, please enquire with Nicola at the Reception desk for further details.

Children and Safeguarding

The club has a Safeguarding policy for Children and vulnerable persons. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at the meets. You are asked to ensure your child does not climb on any equipment on site, treats the layout and/or mascot trucks, and other members trucks or equipment with respect, and does not run around the hall or outside of the building.

Accidents & mishaps

Please report any accident, injury, or spillage or other mishap however small to a Director or Committee member immediately. First Aid equipment is located in the kitchen area if required. Paper towels for any spillage are located in the toilet cubicles.

Buying & selling

The club is happy for members to buy or sell trucks, equipment, or accessories either at meets, or on our Facebook group. Please ensure you are happy with your purchase and make prompt payment to the seller. The club does not accept any liability in any way for any items sold or purchased and cannot get involved in any transaction or dispute between club members.
