This months featured truck belongs to Damian Parker Burgess.  Damian bought the truck as it was advertised as being 1:14 scale and looked to be a great way into the hobby.

The truck started life as a Huina cement mixer and although they are still advertised as 1:14 scale, they are more like 1:18 scale.

He wanted to be able to tow something and purchased a Bruder low loader. Obviously a cement mixer cannot tow so the rear of the cement mixer was removed and replaced with an Aluminium deckplate. A Tamiya fifth wheel was acquired and fitted and so far as the base outline of the truck thats it.

When you are on a budget sound and light can be difficult however WPL market a simple sound light and ESC unit which was used to replace the Huina control board. basic lights are controlled by the board but some 1/10 scale spots give the unit some huge overhead lights.

The bruder low loader was fitted with a Tamiya pin for towing. The deck has been covered with lolly sticksa bit of scrap shed roofing felt has been used on the ramps and towards the front and som matchsticks provide grip on the ramps. The trailer now has the look of an overworked and under cared for trailer that you may find sitting at the back of a yard but still pulled out for those "special" jobs.

Despite the obvious bad advertising it is now a working truck, if a little mismatched in size.

A little bird told me that a Tamiya Scania may be the next build!
