Following the experiment with the new set up time for yards, we have reviewed the feedback from those who build yards and from our set up team with what they reckon they can achieve.
Going forward, we need to get the rubber down first, the bridge built and get the yard spaces in place.
Feedback from the set up crew suggests that they are happy for people to start building yards once the rubber is down and the bridge is in place. They will then add the finer details to the layout as people build yards. We recognised that with the effort you guys put into yards now, 30 mins isn’t enough.
We will allow people in to build yards at 9.15.
A few points to note:
  • If you are still adding detail to your yards after 10, when the layout opens, please try not to block the roadway.
  • There will be no driving on the main layout until we officially start at 10.
  • The rear gates won’t be open, so all entry is through the main doors please.

You are welcome to come into the kitchen area and use toilets if you arrive early.

Lastly, we remind you that you can drive until 3pm and that we can turn the lights off on request in the afternoon for your show and glow.
We hope this makes things easier for all of you and keeps the fine detail we all love so much still going in to the layout.
