Well, this month's meet was our busiest to date, with over 50 drivers, more new members and far more spectators than we have had before! With some key Committee members unable to attend, we thank you for your patience whilst signing in.

As the number of new Club members increase, and the positive comments continue we know we made the right decision back in mid 2021 to create our new Club, and we would like to thank all our members and visitors for your continued support, you have all been amazing!

So, back to this meet, and another new layout. New truck parks and new layout for the petrol station. Thanks to our talented build team. It's our aim to keep developing the layout as the Club grows, so there is more to come!

This month, also seen our first 'Have a Drive' offering, where people new to the hobby, can turn up and drive one of the Club trucks, under guidance. This proved very successful, with a couple of people having a go, and one even purchasing a trailer from a member. He's bitten by the bug, and looking for his first truck!

The Services were pretty busy throughout the day, I'm hoping Jenny went home, put her feet up, and relaxed with a small white wine spritzer. A special thanks to Jackie Stevens who assisted with the drinks this time.

Before I forget we announced the Devon Truck Show attendance. We will have a fair sized layout in a marquee at the show, which is being held at the Honiton Show Ground on Saturday 7th and Sunday the 8th of May. The Club have been allocated a limited number of tickets for drivers, so if you are a Club member and interested in attending, log in and check here for more info Devon Truck Show.

Here are the pictures from the meet

The number and different types of build never ceases to amaze me. I find choosing a colour scheme for my trucks really difficult and cannot ever see how it will look finished until it is. Some of the finishes are really clean and detailed, One of my favourites is Duncan Perryman's T cab and tipper trailer.

I'm not sure if I caught it but one of the original Broshuis 7x5 heavy haul trailers was at this meet and did run extended.

Did you know we also have a quiet corner for young children in the Service? We know their attention wanders and some times they just need a break from it all. The quiet corner does just that it is somewhere they can sit down quietly and do some drawing.

We also have some new stickers for car windows/bumpers or just for your model boxes, they are a real bargain at £1 each.

In association with Haywood Academy PTA, we are holding a Community Day at the next meet, where the locals can attend and see what the hobby is about, and have a go with the Club trucks.  For the April meet we are suspending our Spectator's admission fees. We are intending to separate part of the layout for this purpose, and to restrict external visitors to the far corner of the hall near the garden/forest area. Community Day visitor entry will be via the side gate.

So until the next meet..................................
