Introduction

The Club Secretary and Chairman conducted a risk assessment of Haywood Academy Hall on 26th July 2021 to control the risks to Club Members using the hall.

The Club Committee does not have a legal requirement to record the findings of this risk, but there are sound legal and business reasons to record the findings and mitigations of the risk assessment.

The Club Committee and Members have a duty of care to themselves and others to provide a safe environment for Club meets.

The Club Committee have a duty to ensure any risks identified are mitigated or removed where practicable, and all members and visitors are made aware of any identified risks and mitigations.

·       There is the potential for spillages in this area, members to be instructed to clear up all spills immediately and inform a Club Officer in attendance.

·       Meet Rules stipulate that all food and drinks should be consumed whilst sat in the Meeting Room, and are not permitted in the hall to minimise spillages

·       Models moving around layout – all models are to be driven carefully around pedestrians. Drivers and pedestrians are to be aware of moving models when walking around the hall

·       Model storage boxes – must be stored safely around perimeter of hall away from walking routes and fire doors, and must be stacked safely

·       Walking on layout – drivers should only walk on layout to access truck, walking around after truck is prohibited, to prevent tripping over models

·       Pit area – is only to be used to work on models, and left in a clean and tidy state

·       Battery Charging – to prevent damage and injury, batteries can only be charged in the designated area, and must be charged in a protective bag or box, and must NOT be left unattended

·       The wearing of facemasks will be at the Members personal choice, and their decision must be always respected by all Club members

·       The Club will cancel meetings in accordance with Government guidance regarding local or National lockdowns.
