We have a rolling booking for the hall that we use. We can move the odd meeting but it is a lot of hassle for a lot of people and the hall is booked for use by others as well. So this meeting fell on Easter Sunday and after a lot of head scratching we elected to let it run.
This month we put the track selection up for a vote and Layout 2 was chosen by the membership. We have 6 basic designs now and will stick with those, with a little jiggling. I jiggled the design a little bit and we duly packed up the necessary. We were a little down on help this month but we did get most of the layout down in 45 minutes. If you are able to help then please see one of the committee members. Also just a small moan, please stick to the yard size that you requested/ were allocated, spreading makes access to some parts of some layouts rather more difficult. Especially around the bridge where we need to maintaining walk ways.
We expected the meeting to be a bit quiet but we did end up with 32 drivers and a fair few spectators. All the yards bar one were booked and used. The weigh bridge was also back and in use by a fair few people. Oh yes I did use, we need to look at the access as it was a bit tight! My wagon and drag comes in at 13kg.
It was a busy month for me, another 3D printed container office done, more axle stands (all sold out so the printer is going again), tweaks to the JCB and then I was asked to bring along my block truck. The block truck needed swapping to AFHDS3 receivers and the TX programming, In the process I overwrote the wheel loader progs (DOH). Then I had always meant to sort out the drag lights but that's still a to do.
Any way with the traffic being a bit less I got to have a bit of a play (a bonus these days). Last month we also upgraded one of the club trucks to better radio that gives us a bit more control over driving speeds. Two trucks are now available for "beginners" to try, and they will be available at the Devon Truck show.
As is now the norm, there were a host of really nice trucks, too many to mention so on to the pics
