TREASURERS REPORT 2024/2025

Hi everyone, a little about myself for those of you who don’t know me.  I’m Mandie and I started attending meets as a Spectator back in 2023 with the intention of attending a couple of meets during the Winter months whilst sitting and reading a book.  Thanks to the lovely, friendly members I never got to finish one!

Some of you will recognise my face when I started helping Lin and Claire behind the counter with the refreshments back in December 2023 and I have been attending regularly ever since.

In February this year I started on the front desk assisting Nicola and became a Committee Member, Nicola had decided to stand down and I was approached by the Directors to see if I would be interested in taking over her position as Treasurer, the role of which I duly accepted and took over completely in May when Nicola officially stepped down.

The Club is run for the benefit of our members, as a ‘not for profit’ organisation.  The Director’s of the Club receive no reimbursement or dividends from the Club.

Our accounts will be audited by Cobbold & Amp Co, Bristol early next year to enable the Club to submit figures to Companies House and pay any Corporation Tax due by April 2026.

The Club finances have remained steady in 2024/25.

Member numbers and driver visits both remain strong with an increase in new memberships already this season.

The income from the Tuck Shop has vastly improved thanks to Lin’s hot sausage baps.  Thanks to Lin and Claire for all their hard work in the Tuck Shop and to Paul and Lin who continuously stock the tuck shop up.

The Club has made two charitable donations in the year ending 31st August 2025.  The first being to Andys Man Club, back in May for the sum of £250.00 which was for Men’s Mental Health.  This donation was at the request of Mike Quartley in lieu of admission fees for the Devon Truck Show.  The second being to Lung Cancer Research, in memory of Les Mainwaring, who sadly passed away.  Les was well known in the RC Trucking fraternity and this donation was also for £250.00.

We have made several large purchases to improve the layout and the running of the club in the last financial year.  This has included purchasing a new laptop, new rubber for the layout, street lights, traffic lights, DVSA car, warehouse with working doors, curbs and the tyre bay to name a few.

A buffet was provided at our December meet for all and thanks to Lin and Claire for arranging this.  We also ensured that all the young members received an Easter Egg at our Easter meet.

The Directors and Committee members are always busy in the background working on improving things…so keep watching this space.  I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the club to thank them all for their hard work.

The Committee unanimously decided to keep with Membership fees with no increase for 2025/26 which will ensure after covering all our costs, there will be some funds left for future reinvestment in the Club.  Our aim being to develop the Club and layout further, but for financial prudence the Club will retain a small surplus.

We try and keep costs to a minimum but like all things, these costs are ever increasing.

No fund raising was carried out in 2024/2025 but we aim to try and have some

fund raisers this year to support future upcoming events, for example the Devon Truck Show in May again.  The Club subsidises attendance for these shows, the biggest cost of which is always the hire of the van!  Although the Club incurred a slight lost in May for this event, it is good publicity and great fun for everyone that attends and has the full support from the Directors and Committee for our participation.

Now on to the figures…

Accounts to year ends 31st August 2025

Turnover                                       £6543.49

Cost of Sales                               £ 392.63

Depreciation                                 £ 858.77

Surplus, before Corporation Tax   (- £ 319.65)

Thank you to you all for your continued support of the Club.
